About me
I am Pat Mason, a Reiki Master Teacher, living in the small market town of Thornbury, approximately half way between Bristol and Gloucester.
I have ten years of Reiki experience, having done my First Degree in order to help myself with a serious health problem. I discovered that I loved and believed in Reiki so much, and found it so helpful, that I wanted to go on and do my Second Degree and become a Reiki Practitioner.
After much thought and a two year search to find the right Reiki Master to help me with such a big step, I did my Master/Teacher Degree to enable me to pass on the knowledge and love of Reiki to others.
I practice in my own treatment room at home and teach Reiki First and Second Degree courses, ongoing throughout the year. I also spend some time as a volunteer therapist at my local hospital giving Reiki treatments.
I practice the beautifully simple Western Usui Reiki as taught originally by Mrs Takata, the lady who brought us Reiki from Japan. There are many who have added all sorts of "New Age" beliefs, rituals and teachings to what Dr Usui originally gave us, as well as different systems such as Tibetan, Karunna and Seichem Reiki. These are not necessarily wrong, it is just that Western Reiki has branched into several streams in recent years. Because the simplicity is so right for me, I continue to practice and teach in the way that I was taught.
